Can I up my daily calorie intake if I am active

Right now my calorie limit is set at 1200. I walk to and from my job and am fairly active on my feet throughout the day. I wore a heart rate monitor and saw I burned an average of 200 calories a day. Can I make my limit 1,400 and still lose weight?

Yes. In fact, MFP sets your calorie goal a little lower than some other sites expecting you to log your exercise so that it can add more calories as you earn them. Either log some of your activity or change your activity modifier, because it sounds like you aren't sedentary. The site would probably give you a more accurate calorie goal if you set it as lightly active instead.0

If you have 75+ lbs to lose 2 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 40-75 lbs to lose 1.5 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 25-40 lbs to lose 1 lb/week is ideal
If you have 15-25 lbs to lose 0.5 to 1.0 lb/week is ideal
If you have less than 15 lbs to lose 0.5 lb/week is ideal
You should be eating far more than 1200. I suspect you have your weight loss set at 2lbs per week. With 12lbs left, you should be aiming for .5lb/week loss. Punch in your info to MFP and change your goal, and see what it comes up with.0
