Hello. I am new here, and could use some guidance. I am a type 2 diabetic, and I have problems with making myself a craving-stopping snack. What do you suggest?

  • Hello & Welcome to MFP!

ahhhm start at the grocery store ... don't buy the unhealthy snacks.

If it is not readily available ie. when you do get a craving you can't just walk into the kitchen to get it.

Most people don't crave anything badly enough to actually make a special trip to the shop so ... start by just not having it in the house.

    Good luck!

Are you eating enough throughout the day? Happy to help if I can. Add me.
  • Have you met with a registered dietitian or diabetes educator to help you figure out an overall healthy diet, including snacks? Testing your blood sugar will also help you figure out which foods work better for you. Sometimes we get in the habit of eating certain foods at certain times of day, and that can lead to cravings. Think about why you want to eat, and that may help you decide on the best course of action. ~Lynn /Glucerna
