NSV: 1 Month of Personal Training in the Books!

I have started seeing a personal trainer and have been attending a 7 person class with him. I must say I was a little nervous that I wouldn't measure up to what everyone else was doing, due to my physical limitations (past broken bones, asthma, etc). However I have officially finished 4 weeks as of today and I am definitely seeing results. My biceps seem more sculpted and I can see a huge difference in my mid section. Not to mention the fact that my pants are feeling looser lately. I have 4 more weeks paid for and then I will see if I continue it (which I probably will). Yay for NSV!

Well done, that's fantastic, my husband had said to me for years to train with a personal trainer and I never did as convinced myself I couldn't afford or justify paying a trainer until February this year. I had been ill so hadn't worked out for over a year. First session at the gym & I was so nervous as I knew I looked awful & was really worried about overdoing it. One of the gym trainers approached me & offered me a free session - who could resist. I signed up there & then started for a month, then two and I am still working with him. I have lost over 16kg in weight and 6inches off everywhere. I absolutely love training now and I think a lot of that is down to the fact that the trainer changes the workout so I don't get a chance to get bored. Enjoy your sessions

Hey, I just started a couple weeks ago with a trainer. I'm glad to see someone else doing the same thing who is seeing results. I'm nervous because I'm not losing much weight so far. I'm sure sticking with it is key.

And frozentrace - I paid 195 for a total of four hour long sessions. It's not sustainable long term for me but I'm logging everything I'm learning and taking advantage of this opportunity. I don't know how much the OP paid for theirs.

I am in a group training session and it is $18 per session (2 sessions a week) for 8 weeks = total of $288. After the first 8 weeks, it jumps up to $25 per session ($400 for 8 weeks) and will stay at that cost. I do not have to pay a gym membership, so it works out to be about what I would have to pay in gas and a membership to a gym, so for me it works out budget wise.

I was also told that when you are doing strength training in particular that measuring inches will show you more results than the actual scale. I do not know how true that actually is, but I do know that I have lost 8 pounds in 3 months, due to diet, exercise, and general lifestyle changes.

I am noticing actual muscles in my arms, which I never really have had and I am so proud of myself for sticking with it!

That's great!! I would so love to hire a trainer someday, I'm not sure if it's something I'll ever be able to do though. I think they're so worth it though!
