Left hip pain

So I've started using the recumbent bike at the gym, and every now and then I'll have to stop because I start getting this weird pulling/scraping pain in the outside of my hip. It gets worse if I lift my hip and feels better when it's straightened out. It's hard to describe, but it's a very "tight" feeling like something is being pulled or stretched the wrong way. Does anyone have this? Is this normal for someone who's new to exercising?

I've not had issues like that, but perhaps you should see a doctor? Any pain while exercising should be checked out by a professional.0
