I found New Rules of Lifting for Women to be a great guide:
    http://www.amazon.ca/The-New-Rules-Lifting-Women/dp/1583333398

You can also get ePub versions if you have an eReader.

What do you need help with? For a beginner I would start off with smaller weights and build up from there. Make sure you use proper form so you don't injure yourself. YouTube tutorials on proper form and basic workouts for beginners. Not sure if this info will be useful but there ya go!

    1) figure out your goals - only you can do this.

    2) decide on the lifts, sets and reps you should be doing to reach said goals - we can help here, so can a decent PT.

    3) get instruction on how to lift correctly and safely - we can help, so can youtube vids if you're careful.

    4) go lift.

There are a good number of programs out there you could try to start out with. I see a lot of recommendations for Starting Strength, Stronglifts, and New Rules. But before you go out and pick one, you'll need to think about what you are trying to accomplish and make sure your routine will move you toward that.

Or you could always jump in head-first while you figure out your goals and make adjustments later. Getting started is way more important than having it all figured out right now.

This^^^ Pick a program, read about the program, start the program, come back when you have questions about specific program.

I recommend reading starting strength and beginning with the strong lifts 5x5 program. I am currently working with two beginners (I have a whole six months more experience then them :stuck_out_tongue: ) and I am starting them on SL 5x5. It's very basic, five big lifts for five sets of five reps.
