What is it Like for You When You Feel Really Great?

I am heading to the gym after work. I love going to the gym, now. I did not always feel this way. I used to be depressed and my energy was always in the crapper (HUB syndrome they call it - Head Up Butt). I went to my docs - both an MD and Naturalpaths that work together. Anyway, I have not felt this good since I was in my early 20s. So, I am a month into working out, again, after a number of years off... I know that is just a short time, blah-blah-blah, and soon it will all go away and lose its appeal, but it won't - at least not today. How do I know? I used to be a fitness fanatic until about 30.
I feel good, today, and tomorrow is no guarantee, so I am just going to go with it and feel great ...
I will be working upper body. I am going to tear apart the frustrations of the day and build the hope for a better tomorrow with each rep. I am going to keep working off this fat and give my tomorrow's self something to thank me for. Then, I am shooting for 40 minutes of cardio on the stair mill... All this is going to prepare me for a nice weekend of hiking and camping with the family. Humm, I wonder if I can get in shape enough for a tough mudder. I can do it. I know I can. It is in April around these parts (Phoenix). Yes, I want to do a Tough Mudder. I will have to do some research, though, on exactly what a Tough Mudder competition entails. Life is full of adventures, and I need another fix. I just decided that. Why not? Another goal. I want one of those Tough Mudder T-Shirts. I feel like a Tough Mudder, today!
So, what are you going to decide to do... right now?

That is an awesome attitude!! I just picked up an aerobic step with some weights and an exercise ball so I've got a date with a new fitness DVD tonight!! I'm trying to get back on the wagon after getting pregnant and then waiting until I weaned my now almost 11 month old son. I ran my very first 5k in August and I'm planning to do another one on Oct 25th. I felt AWESOME to get the t-shirt and then put on the running badge before we started. It was a great feeling knowing that I would be "running". I never was a runner but I conquered it and I ran the WHOLE TIME!!!!! I don't set goals for tomorrow or the next day or the next day. I set goals for TODAY!!! Everyday can be different so you have to have an open mind.0

Awesome post! It is nice to be a part of something. We're social beings and getting out on a run with others is very motivating. I hope to run a 5k, again, soon. I have some more weight to lose, first. Go get'em awolf2011!0 -
Thank you both for your very motivational posts. Today is not a day I feel great. I have been sick and not able to work out. You both reminded me how good it will feel after the first two weeks of working out are under my belt again. I will have energy. I will crave that workout. I remember that feeling and want it back. I want to know that I am taking time for myself. I will do this. I just joined a 5 week boot camp to help me get back on track. I went to the store and stocked my kitchen with very healthy, delicious food so I have everything I need to stay on track. I am excited about the next week!
I too want to do a Tough Mudder. I am going to start with a Foam Fest (which is the light version of a Tough Mudder). I am on track for spring as well.0 -

Feeling great comes and goes, doesn't it? Last night, I went to the gym feeling great, but I pushed it really hard, and I got my first exertion headache. You have to Google it if you are not familiar with it, because you definitely do not want to experience it. It will not end a great day well. LoL! You may just think you had an aneurysm. I seriously waited to pass out, hit the floor, and die.
I was doing flies on a machine. I could only do half the stack a month ago when I started back into working out. Well, it felt pretty light, so I decided I would do a set of 10 with the whole stack. At rep 9, I was struggling and pushing so hard; then, I got this pounding headache that started at the back of my neck, where the muscle attaches to the skull. I thought I pulled those, but the pain fired around my whole head to the front. It was pretty bad. I got up, got some water, went and finished some other chest, triceps and bicepts. It lingers still this morning... just a faint reminder of the excruciating headache, last night.
Stay healthy and work out for the long haul - not like everything depends on that one last rep.

- I hope you feel great, again, soon. Too bad we can't just make ourselves feel great all the time, right?0
