Polar FT7 not working properly

I recently got a Polar FT7 and it's not working properly. It keeps saying "check HR sensor" and its snapped in tight and the band is wet... I don't know what to do...

People here may have suggestions, a lot of users have them; but I'd try the Polar website or support :)

    Good luck

Try these: Tap watch on transmitter. If was working, keep moving, tends to pick up again. Make sure clothes not moving chest band. Polar forum may have more tips. Best wishes.

I have noticed that taping it does do the trick. But it's annoying having to do it all the time.

    Thanks for the suggestions everybody.

It could just be that the sensor is faulty. I recently got the Polar FT7 from amazon, but I returned it because I didn't like the display. it was too Tamagachi for me. I spent a few more dollars and got the Timex Zone Trainer. It does a lot more and the display is much clearer and bigger. I would just exchange it or return it. It is most likely faulty equipment. When I was using my FT7, it never failed at reading the heart rate.

I was having that issue but after washing the sensor & chest strap really well with water & letting it dry, then rinsing it after every use, it's no longer doing that.

When was the last time you had the battery changed on the sensor and/or the watch?

I've had my Polar FT7 for over a year, and the sensor was starting to give wacky readings. Battery changed, problem solved.

Edited to add: never heard of the tapping thing.
