I could use a little motivation and advice...
I am female, 5'5", and approx. 199 lbs...
hardcore dieting failed me in the past, and all around me people say "Just limit what you eat!" So I'm going to go for one of my biggest drawbacks in my life...
Portion control.
Today I had only one packet of oatmeal instead of my usual two. That's a good start. But for lunch I opted for 2 slices of pizza. To keep myself from going for a 3rd, I'm distracting myself by going here and typing all this. ^^;
I'm dropping soda all together in favor of flavored water and iced tea. I plan to do gym at least 3 times a week, if not four, and do 45 minutes of cardio machines. Tuesdays and Thursdays, if I can pull myself out of bed, I want to run around the block in the morning before I get ready for work.
So what you do all think of my plan? Good goals? Horribly flawed?
Critique! And motivate if possible please

keep it simple, exercise will not compensate for a poor diet or way of eating its for fitness but will get you out so you aren't eating.
Simplicity means eat what you like but weigh it measure it make it fit know your BMR eat above it know your TDEE eat below it and tweak things as you go.
Ive done this so many times this is my longest streak and best weight loss feel free to add me you can do this but like anything it takes motivation and dedication if you have those then your halfway there.0 -
Motivation comes from within. We can't give you that. If you really want to lose, you will.
Switching to all water is a really good and not too difficult first step. It's a habit change and a good one. Part of a whole lifestyle change. When you have that down, start adding more fruits and veggies to the diet.
Exercise is awesome. Don't kill yourself at first! Take it slow. But do some three times a week. Also an excellent start.
Bad habits are tough to break. Take it slow and work hard.
Good luck!0 -
Too much at once. Pick one thing - diet is going to give you way more bang for the buck than exercise - and stick with it until it gets easy, then add another thing.
If you feel like you're starving all the time, count calories so you know if you have a reasonable deficit rather than an unnecessarily large deficit. Crash diets don't work for you, so aim for half a pound a week, not 2.
Give yourself time before assuming that something you're doing doesn't work. If you're losing relatively slowly (<2 pounds a week is slot for this purpose), normal random water weight fluctuation can disguise 3 weeks of steady fat loss. Look at your averages over time, target than each day or week in isolation.0
