Stress eaters, help!

Stress eaters, how do you stop eating when you are stressed? I do so great, then something stresses me out and at that moment I don't care anymore about my calories. I think it'll be just today. But that happens multiple times a week, so its never just that day. Example, today at work I took care of a deathly ill child. Odds are he will not make it through the night. I had to walk by the family members balling hysterically in the waiting room. I locked myself in the bathroom and just cried and cried and prayed for them. Then I ate chocolate. At that moment I didn't care about the calories. I dont know what i thought that would accomplish, but it didnt matter. How do I stop this? I know in my head food won't do anything to help me feel better, but I use it to cope.

How do you reformed stress eaters cope?
