    Chiming in with the magnesium suggestion. Also, as painful as it is, get out of bed and start walking. Not just standing up and flexing, but walking. It will significantly reduce the length of time you will have the Charlie Horse.

    Can't believe I forgot to mention this one, but epsom salt baths. Epsom salt is magnesium sulfate and the magnesium is one of the few things that CAN absorb through skin. It *may* even be more readily available for use in this manner then if you try to supplement it through diet. Plus you have an excuse to take a nice hot bath... :wink:

    A pickle. I'm not kidding, I had an elderly friend tell me to eat a pickle. The spasm went away in minutes. I don't know the science behind it, perhaps something in the vinegar or the brine. All I know is that it worked quickly.
