Accurate body fat measurement?

Hiya
Back in May/June I was going to a personal trainer that used a digital scale (not the body composition monitors with the rods) and I came out to be around 57kg and 22-23% body fat which I thought was reasonable. A bit disappointed as I thought I was in better shape than the body fat percentage advised. In August, I started going to a different personal trainer who uses biosignature modulation which measures 12 points on your body using calipers (ouch!). I'm not taking the supplements or dietary advice or anything like that, we just use it for a measure of my body fat. At the beginning of September, I clocked in at 59.8kg and 17.1% body fat which sounded ridiculous. How could I possibly have lost 5% body fat in the space of three months, during which I went on holiday for a week and didn't do anything different then May/June- quite possibly I did less!! Now in October, I am sitting at the same weight but 15.8% body fat. My weight training has increased, my cardio has decreased a bit and my macros were generally more under control but even my trainer doesn't understand how I lost 1.3% body fat in the month given the crap he's seen me eat.
Sorry for the tl;dr, just trying to explain my training background (or lack thereof?!).
I was wondering what peoples' thoughts were with regards to the accuracy of these two body fat measurements. Between digital scales & calipers, how accurate are these methods? Aside from splashing out on expensive methods like being measured in water etc to get another comparison point. Is it possible that my current trainer is simply not measuring me properly? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
