I have a couple routes that I like to run in my community and I have recently been a bit thrown off by the distances to which I am running. According to my pedometer which gives me steps and miles and I have watched it to know that it somehow is accurate step to step walking and jogging. It states that I am running/jogging 5 miles. Well when i drove it out in my car it states that it is only 4.3 miles which is over half a mile off. Which do you think I should believe. I have been going with my pedometer however I am not sure i should be.

Is your stride length correct on your pedometer?0

Why don't you use a gps based app or device?0

Check the stride length.0

Map My Walk and Map My Run might be worth trying. They're FREE and I don't know if the steps are right (since I don't count them, lol), but I drove around to check and the car was very similar, to .1 of a mile.
It gives you a map with lines drawn on it to show where you went, saves your info (if you want) and automatically synchs with MFP.
I really love it.0
