Everyday seems to be a struggle, it wasn't this hard the first time...why is second time harder?

So I lost over sixty pounds the first time I lost weight. SW or I should say highest weight was 283. Weight I got down to was 219. That was about two and a half years ago.
Through stress and heartbreak, I gained majority of it back. Since July though I've been back at it, losing but much slower this time and I am doing everything I did the first time I lost the weight so I don't know whats going on?
This time my SW was 272 and now I am at 246, so that's 26lbs lost in almost four months. Last time I remember losing much more than that in four months...like at least 10lbs more.
As I recall I started Oct 2011 at 265 and by Feb 2012 I was 230...thats 35lbs. The only difference I can think of is that I started out in the gym the first time around but this time I started walking mostly on the track before going to the gym.
Also this time around I eat quite a few more calories but still not enough to be going this slow.
I eat no more than 1500-1600/day burn 600-700 cals 5-6days a week, so what gives?
Maybe I'm overreacting but everytime I jump on the scale or look at my weight in the mirror its disappointing to see esp when I was so close to being under 200 the first time around.

Slow and steady wins the race. Don't fret about the past, you are living in the present. No need to beat yourself up. Have you looked up a TDEE calculator? Google one and enter info and you may get a higher calorie estimate for weight loss.0

That's a net of ~1000cals most days. If you restricted like this when you first lost you prob lost quite a bit of muscle. This makes it slower the second time around because you no longer have this muscle which in effect reduces the cals your body uses in a day. It's slower because you aren't in The same deficit you were The first time around.
This is why yo-yo dieting is soo hard on you long term.0 -
I am I the same boat! The first time was easy! Lost 95 pounds and was happy, this time it is much harder. I think it's because we know we're doing it all again. The first time was all a new experience0
