Hi,
Sadly I am one of the people in this world diagnosed with binge eating disorder.
Some people think this is simply over eating and lack of self control but that is not the case.

Yes, I do over eat and I do lack self control.
But this disorder has more to do with the mind, constantly thinking about food, thinking about when, how, and where you can eat it. Finishing one item of food and instantly grabbing the next because you were already thinking about it before you even finished your last bite. Planning your binges, doing them in secret.

Anyway you can understand how frustrating this can be.
Because of this disorder I have gained 40+ pounds in the past 3.5 months.

I've only been two days binge free and weigh in every Friday.
Does anyone who has beat BED, have any advice on how to do it?

There is a social group here for binge eaters. Work with a dietician and/or psychologist who specializes in treating ED.

I'm 65 days binge free and what helped me so far has been to log everything (especially the binge), eat 3 meals every day and 1-2 snacks and make sure to get enough calories, increase my protein and fat intake, prepare my own food, and not have "good" or "bad" foods - if I'm in a situation i will have a small treat although so far I'm drinking an alcoholic beverage about 1x/week and having some kind of dessert about 2x/month but if you look at my diary there is a good amount of variety. On top of all this I'm very motivated due to health problems I developed.

    Good luck!!
