wow, where to start? the journey, the frustrations, the ups and downs... But i am not giving up hope. I know that no matter how wonderful a "tool" is (meetings, books, online community), I know that it's up to me in the end. But I am tired of how i look and how i feel. I am tired of not being able to do things I want to do, buy clothing that i want. Why do i eat what and when i shouldn't? don't know. but hopefully this will work for me.

I am in my 50s, a single mom to an amazing adult son who is special needs. I was born in the US, live in Israel (though planning and hoping to move to the US soon). I love to cook, especially Asian and Mediterranean style. Eat a lot of vegetables, mostly chicken, occasionally will eat fish or meat. working on identifying and handling my triggers in order to cut down on what i eat. I do exercise but need to up that as well.

I look forward to connecting here with others who are starting their journey.

Welcome aboard! You will find this place to be VERY helpful, especially when you log what you eat. You'd be surprised at the hidden calories and other dangers. I joined almost a year ago, and it's been amazing logging everything. Don't worry about anything. Go at your own pace, find a plan that works right for you, and get a good support network. I'll start that last part by letting you be my friend here.

No matter what happens, just do not give up. You're starting that journey of a thousand miles with that most important first step.:flowerforyou:

Welcome! Welcome! I've been using this app for a little while now and feel very confident in it. It certainly keeps me on track.

Please add me if you'd like a MFP friend. I log in every day and am very dedicated to meeting my goals. Fingers crossed I don't lose that motivation!
