too fast?

OK so I have a newbie question. I keep hearing weight loss greater than 2 lbs per week is unhealthy/not sustainable. My SW was 285 I am down to 265 in just over a month. My job consists of me sitting at a desk all day, but I have started playing basketball and volleyball. I am close to my calorie goal every day, however I do not eat my calories I gain back from exercise.

Am I losing too fast?

i dont think so you are a male and i know for a fact any guy i know can loose 20 pounds easy in a month. and the weight comes off faster the more extra weight you have, then becomes less as you loose. so no, good job keep it up.

Although some of that loss is water, it is still recommended to lose slowly in order to preserve muscle. Losing weight fast also means losing muscle fast. It would benefit you greatly to incorporate some weight training into your routine.

You're making a lot of healthy changes, and your body is rewarding you for it! Keep it up! Basketball is great exercise, and I'd bet that you're eating a ton less calories than you used to. It won't drop this fast forever, but don't be worried about it. I don't eat back my calories either, but I also don't sweat it if I go a little over my numbers eating fruit or veggies.

You're doing great! Adding in some weights should help you keep things moving and keep your muscles growing (not shrinking).

I don't think it was too fast. You probably should eat some of your calories back. The weight loss will slow down and even out soon. I do some weight training and last night was my second night of C25K.

The pounds fell off so fast at first. I lost twenty pounds just likethat.

Enjoy it while it lasts. The more you lose, the harder it gets!
