I'm starting to really see major "gains" particularly when dressing myself. But the other visual benefits are there too.
Started this dietary recording on April 1 at 176kg (388 pounds).
As of yesterday, I reached 29 weeks and a leisurely loss of 14.6kg (32.2 pounds).
Now down to 161.4kg (355.8 pounds)
1. The new pants/jeans I bought on Saturday are 15cm (6 inches) smaller at the waist.
2. My watchband is two notches fewer.
3. My upper arm muscles are bulging from my average four two-hour weight-machine sessions per week at the gym.
4. My ribs are not as deep under my skin.
5. The steering wheel in the car is further from my abdomen ... (a) because my stomach is smaller and (b) because my *kitten* is shrinking, I'm sitting further back in the seat, so to speak
6. Many of my shirts, T-shirts, polo tops and jackets are hanging looser.
One of the things that the gym manager has said is that the scale count of kilos lost is less encouraging but that the muscle bulk is denser than the fat it's "replacing".
Either way, as I close in on retirement in July 2016, I am a fitter, lighter person for ME, my wife and my five grandchildren. I don't pant quite as much keeping up with energetic kids.
One older lady at the gym who first saw me in late April but then only saw me again in September says that my face is "considerably thinner". My mother-in-law said something similar.
All this is positive encouragement to keep going. Hopefully, I can speed the rate to a little more than half a kilo (a single pound) per week soon.
Wondering if I should knock off another 200-250 calories per day for a while to see if I handle it well.
