How does everyone plan on staying on track now that the holidays are nearly here?

It's just a couple days. Plan is not to let it last more than that. I ate 2500 calories last year and now I know better about low calorie filling breakfast and dinners to leave 1700 calories for dinner. More than that and I am stuffed anyway.0

I'll do what I normally do on business trips, meals out etc. Eat what I want, but in moderation and not until I feel stuffed. Go easy on bread, desserts and booze. Skip candy. Make sure I get lots of exercise. I'll log it, but mainly because I'm interested.0

Ah I'm the opposite. Go easy on the main meal and load up on desserts. I'm just glad I can do without alcohol.0 -
Oh this is a good one! Thanks for posting. Last year what I did was I allowed myself a "splurge" on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. I didn't let myself go overboard, either. I just exercised a little portion control. I don't drink or eat too many sweets to begin with. My weaknesses are bread and cheese. I had those, (and always do) but, again, in moderation. This worked for me. I was still able to lose weight through the holidays and that's the plan this year, too.0

I'm planning on going on maintenance for a week or two during the Christmas break. Will still exercise and log, but going to ease up for a set period so I/my body can rest and reset. For other days, I'll try to stay within range. I've had good luck taking small servings (half or quarter portions) of foods I want to try at big events- that way I get to try lots of things (and feel like I'm eating and experiencing a lot!) but keep the calorie level down.
Oh, and all bets are off for Thanksgiving. I'll log and exercise, but I'm not going to be too concerned about a single day- my goal this year is more to stick to plan for the days around holidays and events.0 -
Thankfully, I have a family who is willing to trade in most of the heavy foods for something lighter. I am not too concerned when it comes to actual meals (desserts included. I've been lucky enough to slip in raw & vegan desserts over the past few years without anyone noticing much of a difference haha). I do tend to have a problem with portion control around the holidays, so basically, I just plan to really monitor myself & continue to frequent the gym, even if I am out of town.0

On the Holidays I will be working those days. So not much for holiday meals for me. yay!0

My plan for Thanksgiving and Christmas Day is to enjoy whatever I want. My big Southern family cooks good old Southern food and it is amazing. I will enjoy some of everything, including the desserts and wine. My own contributions for Thanksgiving will be Mac and Cheese and old school, from scratch, Banana Pudding. Neither is even remotely low calorie. For Christmas, I do Buckeyes, Divinity and Caramel Cake.
The plan is to stick to my calories the majority of other days and maybe do some extra exercise. I like to eat. I plan to continue to enjoy eating. If this losing weight thing meant saying no to all the foods I love or not participating in family celebrations and traditions then I'd hate and resent it and it wouldn't last.0 -
cook it all, eat it all. I didn't get to enjoy the last two holiday seasons, I'm not missing a thing this year!0
