Frustrated.. So tempted to crash diet

I know the health risks in crash dieting but i need results and ive gone nowhere in almost a year just bouncing around back and forward the same 10lbs off and on.. i need to loose another 50lbs at least :disappointed:
So looking around at friends and family trying out these new diet pills and juicing diets, seeing it work for them.... i'm soooo tempted to just crash on cranberry juice and apples just for a month or so .. just to get to a healthy weight then i can work on maintaining by eating healthy and exercising :p

It doesn't work, and you know it doesn't, so don't. I know it's hard when we want results, but often times I find when my mind wanders away looking for quick fixes and easy solutions it's because I'm not being honest with myself.

If you aren't losing, you aren't logging properly. Be completly honest with yourself and EVERYTHING you eat. Weigh your food, plan you meals if necessary, and you'll see the scale change. Harsh realities can produce results.

But the scale shouldn't be everything, take measurments, take pictures, whatever else you can do to see the changes in yourself and keep yourself on track. For me pictures work because I HATE how I look in the first picture I took, and though I look better four months later, it's still not where I want to be.

It takes work and it takes time to lose weight and to lose it in a healthy manner. I'd rather take five years to drop my weight than crash diet and be miserable. Plus, going slow allows for the learning curve. I'm not perfect every day and if I had crashed to lose a ton of weight and was trying to maintain, I'd fail, because I'm still learning how my body works. It's not an overnight knowledge, as much as it seems like common sense.

Sure you can lose the weight that way, just to gain it all back again once you start eating normal.

I lost 60 lbs but it took almost a year for me to lost it by eating at a deficit and exercising. Don't expect it to happen overnight, it takes time.

There is no magic pill or detox.

  • Your probably right I am just being lazy ..letting things slip one too many times with logging or not eating the right foods even when i stay within my calorie goal because i haven't had the time to put into that day.. i should find the time, i know that but yea a quick fix is so tempting even though i know it may just pile back on as fast as i lose it :\
Sounds like you've answered your own questions...
It's not easy, we all get that. But you have to want it bad enough to work at it.

Its not just that i want it, i need it.. just feels like im going nowhere .. no direction lately just trying this and that to see if it works .

If you just need it, without really wanting it, you'll go nowhere. Make a gameplan and stick to it, it doesn't have to be complicated or hard, just structured and fitting your lifestyle. Good luck :)

Someone on here said "the time will pass, anyway." Spend it wisely. Crash dieting will only keep that yo-yo going.

Instead of crash dieting, read tips on breaking a plateau. A plateau is what it sounds like to me. Try out some new exercise activities, go pescaterian for a month, try a teatox. Do something different, but DO NOT CRASH DIET. It will not work. Hope you get the results you want :-)
