Sugar Crash

Ok so ive been pretty strict as far as sugar intake goes on my diet and two nights ago I ate a huge sundae. Well needless to say, I had trouble sleeping that night and I felt terrible the entire day. I also work with kids and was calling them all by the wrong names, is this some type of withdrawal? Ive been on my diet for about 5 months now

its not a withdrawal, but it is not atypical for a huge insulin spike like you probably had. Just get back to low carb if you choose that route.

I don't know if it is physical or mental, but I have had good experiences after a giant carb spike and having trouble sleeping by going and doing heavy cardio to burn the extra energy - I have been known to get up at 2am when I am having trouble sleeping like that and going running then coming back and sleeping like a baby.

I'm not sure that happened on a physiological level, but let me recommend something to you. Make a green smoothie with fresh cactus. You can find the cactus at a any grocery store. Before you put the cactus in though, make sure that you cleaned off all the thorns. Hope it helps, it always does for me :-)

What your describing sounds a bit like reactive hypoglycemia. (An instance of low blood sugar which usually occurs immediately after a spike in insulin levels).

Have you had a fasting blood sugar check recently? Definitely talk to your doctor about it next time you schedule a visit.
