You can cook anything in the microwave, I had a recipe book from the 70's that showed you how to make a whole Christmas dinner in the microwave. Anything that can be steamed can be microwaved and I always cook pasta and rice in the microwave, because it's usually just me and I hate waiting for the stove top to heat up and boil the water for such a small amount.0

Are you allowed to use a george foreman in your dorm? I love mine and use it way more than I use my stove because it cooks faster. I can make some pretty yummy meals by cooking protein on the george foreman grill and steaming some veggies in the microwave.
If your allowed to use a crock pot, here's some of my favorite recipes. Easy, yummy, cheap and pretty low calorie. You can make them ahead on the weekend and put them in the crock pot to cook while your in classes during the day. You can use a small crock pot and cut the recipe in half if you don't need all the portions. Or store them in the fridge for lunches etc.
