Low/Dead Fitbit Charge

My fitbit settings are enabled to alert me when the charge is low and I've yet to receive a notification. Yesterday, mid-day it just died and I have no activity record for the majority of my day and classes last night.
I typically charge about every 4th day, obviously that isn't sufficient.
Does your fitbit alert you? How often to your charge?

Mine has never alerted me but I do get a battery icon when I am on my iphone app that shows the remaining charge. I plug it in periodically for short periods during the week (about every 2 - 3 days) and then go for a full 5 light charge on the weekends. So far so good.0
