Hip Surgery

I am having hip surgery mid-December. I have had this surgery on my other hip and let's just say I am NOT looking forward to it. Currently I am trying to get into decent shape before surgery (which isn't easy with multiple injuries) so recovery will be easier. Does any one have any advice on stuff to do before surgery as well as exercises I will be able to do post surgery to somewhat stay in shape? I will be non-weight bearing for 6-8 weeks, bed rest 2 weeks, and a 90 degree angle limit for a few weeks at least.
Currently I'm doing interval training and focusing on stretching.
Any advice or tips is appreciated! I would like this recovery to go as smoothly as I can.
