Recipe UPC scan ability

I tried to post this question is the technical help but a message popped up saying "you don't have permission to post in this category" which I do not understand so I am posting it here.
I haven't attempted to add one of my recipes since the update and tonight I noticed that I no longer have the ability to scan the UPC of the ingredient to add it to my recipe. Is this function no longer available or am I just not seeing it?
