Why does my hand still hurt after touching a hot stove

Yes, It will hurt for a while.
Lavender Essential Oil really helps with the pain.
I have been told by many others to use it. I have only used once, and after about 5 minutes, it took the sting away. My fingers were still a bit sore and raw, but they did not have a constant "burning" pain. (Picked up a hot glass casserole dish-both hands, less than a minute after removing from the oven)0
