People have already explained it but here's my two cents.
Your BMR is not what you need to maintain. Your BMR is what your body would burn if you were in a coma. You burn a lot more calories than that each day just by moving (even fidgeting), talking, digesting food, etc. Plus, you work out so that burns extra calories.
Your TDEE is the amount you'd need to eat every day to maintain. Most online TDEE calculators are actually pretty accurate, within a couple hundred calories. I would try using a few different online calculators and then take an average of the numbers you get. It should be pretty close to perfect that way.
So, eat that amount for a month, and see what happens. If you gain a pound or two (and I mean really gain, as in your body stays a pound heavier for several days... not just one weigh in because it could be water weight), then you know you overestimated a little, so adjust accordingly. Similarly, if you lose weight after a month, you know you can eat a little more to maintain.
Sadly, a lot of weight loss/maintenance is trial and error. But you're on the right track and you'll figure it out.0 -
I think you'll gain 15 pounds.0
