I have been using a treadmill for almost 3 months now, my legs are SO much more toned. I would recommend running outdoors because it's far less boring (for me, at least!) but you will reap the same results with both! I have had to use a treadmill because living in Charleston, up until recently it has been beyond hot and humid outside :disappointed:

I run on the treadmill at the gym because outside I always end up falling on the sidewalk or almost getting by a car while in the crosswalk.

I don't know what you mean by results on the treadmill? I run up to six miles, don't fall down, and don't almost get hit by a car, so I guess I do get results.

If you are asking in regards to weight loss- that happens in the kitchen, exercise is just an added plus.

It's not guaranteed you will get a butt, as a lot of that is up to genetics, but I suggest heavy weight lifting.

my calves are so amazingly muscular from mostly 7 months of running on treadmills three times a week. i do some strenth training, and other cardio and classes too, but the legs are mostly from running since i tend to focus more on my weak arms when lifting, and the other cardio i like is arms and thighs. i do mix the treadmill with other things though so i can balance out my body... i dont just want one part of me to be strong.. i want it all baby.

my weight loss results are from food, but the treadmill is making my heart and lungs strong, which once were very very sick. and my legs are shaping up quite nicely.

Ooh thank you ladies (: I shall invest In a treadmill then :D I've already began dieting and lost 19, so I think the treadmill will help boost the weight loss (:

All exercises boost weight loss, since they all burn calories. Many people buy treadmills that become an expensive clothes rack, because they don't enjoy using it (after the initial thrill wears off). Pick whatever cardio you'll enjoy doing on an ongoing basis.

I love my treadmill. If it broke, I'd get a replacement same day. I hate getting outside to exercise and where I live, the weather is undesirable for many months of the year to do so.

Results for me have been cardio vascular and assisting in the net calorie calculations. Between the speed and incline options, you can really make the session as light or hard as you wish. Like any tool, it can be helpful or not depending if and how it's used.

    Go for it!
