Too much sugar from fruit?

I love fruit, and usually have some with every meal and a couple pieces for a snack (an apple or peach, berries, melon). However, I've been usually going over my recommended sugar - about 70 grams/day rather than about 50 (I do have other sweets occasionally and flavored greek yogurt daily). Is that something I should fix, or just a quirk of my diet that is ok?
I'm usually around or slightly under my goal, 1200 calories, without eating back exercise calories. I've been here for about four weeks and have lost about 5 pounds, feeling pretty good although I'd of course like to lose faster if I can by slightly tweeking my diet!

Quit the flavoured yoghurt. The sugar in that is added sugar. Keep eating the fresh fruit. But increase your vegetable consumption.
Basically with regards to sugar, unless you are diabetic, then the sugar that matters is refined sugar and honey and syrups. These are all almost pure sugar. Eating fruit is not like eating sugar and does not have negative health ramifications. Don't eat the same fruits all the time. Keep it as varied as possible. Stew them sometimes. So long as you are eating fresh fruit, you are probably not eating processed sweets so that's a very good thing.
Maybe try keep away from dried fruits and canned fruits because these have concentrated sugars or added sugar. Don't fall for any processed products that advertises its fruit content. Don't get into a habit of drinking fruit juices for these are another form of concentrated sugars.
But when you eat more vegetables you will find yourself eating a bit less fruit most likely.
Personally i think most people on this forum would be much better served by focusing on fibre rather than sugar. Fibre is healing and exceedingly healthy. watch this show for some major insight into the matter: catalyst - gut reaction on you tube.0 -
I took sugar out and track fiber instead. When you eat a lot of fruit, you're going to go over the MFP recommendation. I don't care if I'm over it, but I do care about fiber.0

Perhaps you may want to try a plain full fat yogurt with your own added fruit. This may help cut back on your sugar each day.0
