I try to stay within my calorie goal. And usually that is not the issue.
But for instance.
I have a bannana in the morning and some milk
usually around lunch a half a sandwich
and than for dinner a pizza thing.
And its within my calories..
And not everyday is this way we always differ.
I have roomates and every week we all cook one time a week
Now luckily we cool healthy (kinda) But we have spageti nights sometimes..
Or wensday im making sloppy joes.
Bottom line, even staying within my calories
Is it bad to eat things like pizza
or a sandwich or some spagetti.
I have been hearing alot about carbs, and fats and its so frustrating not knowing what im supposed to eat at this point..
My fitnesspal sets your daily goal limits on protein, fat , sugars, carbs.
sometimes my carbs are higher than my proteins or sugars higher than fat.
I mean its always a up and down movment. Is this bad ? as long as its not red
I should be fine right?
Thanks yall

It's fine to eat pizza and other high calorie foods.
Just keep in mind that your food selections are going to have a significant impact on hunger/fullness. So for example if you compare a few slices of pizza to a plate of fish and vegetables the latter will probably promote greater satiety on a per calorie basis.
Your macronutrient intake will also play an important role for hunger/satiety and other reasons.
But generally speaking, you probably don't need to completely abstain from any particular food items. Just eat mostly whole foods, leave some room for the occasional pizza or night out with your friends/etc, and focus on the big picture/long term things.0 -
To start, just stay within your calories. No food is bad and unless you want to stop eating a food forever you have to learn to eat it in proportion to your calorie needs. So, what you're doing is right. You're eating the pizza and spaghetti and still staying within your calorie goals.
Later, if you wish and as you learn more, you can start looking at the different angles of protein, carbs, etc. Sugar is a non-issue unless you have health problems. On MFP, you'll always be over on your sugar because the site counts "good" sugars such as fruit as well as "bad" sugars such as processed sugar.
Keep doing what you're doing and adapt if you want to or need to in future. You're doing great by the sounds of it.0 -
For me, there are no such things as "good" foods or "bad" foods. Nothing is bad if you eat it every once in a while, make sure you're getting all of your vitamins and nutrients, and you're not going over your calories. And there are other things to consider, like fullness, and how the food affects your mood. Pizza is very high in calories, not very nutrient dense, and does not keep me full for long. However, it is very, very yummy. So I'll have pizza about once every two weeks, on a day where I've eaten low calorie, highly nutritious, very filling foods.0

Thanks guys! And i def dont eat pizza all the time. But I still had a bunch of calories left and I get full very fast the last few months. I used to eat 4-5000 calories a day...! I now try to stay at around 1300-1400.. I have lost 70 pounds the past few months so I know im doing something right. Sometimes it feels to good to be true that I can still have yummy things in my calories and lose.
Thanks everyone
BTW. i take a prenatal viatmin everyday

I usually make stuff healthy like last time I made salmon and shrimp.
But We live in the Netherlands, and they had never heard of sloppy joes so
Trying it out . and will make sure to save those calories for it and im making veggies for the side hihi.0 -
Everything, in moderation.
You don't have to give up anything. Spaghetti is fine. Pizza is fine. Sloppy joes are fine. And they're all tasty. Just fit them into your calorie goal and you'll lose weight.
For me (and this is just me), I look at Calories first, then Protein, then Fat, followed by Carbs and then Sodium. The sugar macro on MFP is stupidly low, and anyway, sugar (not added sugar) is really counted in your carbs. Unless you have a medical condition, you don't particularly need to keep your carbs low. And it's fine to have some days where one macro is higher than another. They're just goals. It's a target to shoot for.0 -
If you've already lost 70 pounds in a few months clearly what you're doing is working for you. Keep doing that!0

pretty much all of this. Eat what you love, meet your macro/micro/calorie needs, and don't stress the fine stuff.0 -
Thanks so much guys ! I am going to continue with what I have been doing.
