Anniversary Dinner Ideas?

It's mine and my hubbies 1st year wedding anniversary on Sunday and we don't know what to do for dinner.
I don't really want to cook, he can't cook, we can't go out and I don't want to binge because its our anniversary.

Any ideas?

Buy a family sized pre-prepared oven meal is my only idea.

Ordering in something looks to be the only alternative you've given yourself..If there's a good Thai or Hakka takeout around, try that, or pizza and beer or
  • Me and my hubby don't like oven meals and none of the places where I live have healthy burgers, im not letting take over but if I eat something greasy etc I feel ill

Don't have anything like that near me, I live in a small village lol

I think the term healthy has created a culinary monster and you've been bitten it appears.

Why not buy a triple washed organic salad mix and some veggies you like to throw over and some calamata olives. Use olive oil and red wine vinegar as dressing and spice it up with salt/pepper/garlic powder.
Next get a good fresh piece of salmon and grill it or buy ready made from a gourmet store.
If you don't like fish, get ready made rotisserie chicken or some turkey breast or roast beef.
Slice protein and spread over each salad.
Add a good crusty bread and a dish of good olive oil for dipping.
    Add good wine.
    Add candlelight.
Add some fresh berries and cream for dessert.
    Add love.
    Happy First Anniversary!

Wow. There really aren't many restaurants near you! Can you make the trek to Norwich? I would eat all of the things at this place: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g186342-d2647679-Reviews-Moorish_Falafel_Bar-Norwich_Norfolk_East_Anglia_England.html

I know, most of the restaurants near me are seasonal and will be shutting in a few days. Thank you for the link, never been there and everything looks good and it has good reviews

You might have more calories than me, plus the burger places near me are greasy and like I said when I eat greasy food it makes me feel sick now.

We don't have much money to go out and I cook all the time. Hence why I was asking for ideas.

I might have more, but that doesnt mean that I am the only one who can have a burger ;-)

Light some candles and buy a couple of decent steaks - not much cooking involved and cheaper than a restaurant.

  • You can make a nice salad with baby spinach, cut up apple, yoghurt and some seeds (pumpkin/sunflower). You can add mushrooms, clementines or dried cranberries and many other things. If you can't go out, you need to cook something, so maybe bake a few chicken breasts. You could add a slice of garlic bread with mozzerella cheese (you can make your own garlic butter by mixing butter and garlic powder and then spreading it on the bread (Italian, French, baguette, etc). You could make a simple spaghetti sauce with ground beef or ground chicken. You could make your own pizza with your favorite toppings.... None of these would require a lot of time and could be prepared earlier in the day and be ready for when you want to eat. Enjoy your anniversary :)
