Fatter than I think I am (UK)

I have this mental image of what I looked like (body shape wise) when I was 16-17 years old and its what I feel like I should look like now, however a decade later I'm 8 stone heavier than I should be. What I see of myself when looking into a mirror disgusts me, its nowhere near the size I seem to have stored of myself in my mind.
Managed to get down to 18st for our Wedding earlier this year without honestly trying hard (nothing like what I'm trying to do now), but have since climbed up to 19st 7lbs according to the scales 2 weeks ago.
I'm here to change my lifestyle not ride the diet hype train for a few weeks. I'm at the gym (puregym, 24/7 is awesome) 3 times a week, I've signed up to 2015 London to Brighton Charity Bike ride which I managed to do a decade ago without much hassle but now 5 mins on an exercise bike has me huffing and puffing.
I work in IT, my hobby is playing computer games on a PC (live 350+ miles away from friends, only way to stay in touch with them is via gaming) so physically I'm very inactive at the best of times. I hate the gym but after reading many posts/blogs/articles on how to keep motivated I've come to the realization that I'm never going to feel motivated to go to a place I hate to put up with 60mins of pain in order to loose weight and get healthy, instead I'm relying on being disciplined and never skipping a scheduled gym day, and only allowing a careful cheat day on Saturdays. I'm yet to perfect the practice of a cheat day though as I feel like I'm going overboard (4k calories a couple Saturdays ago, just by reverting back to bad eating habits thinking a cheat day was "anything goes").
My weight issues have made me feel insecure for years, I want to change that. I'm not after wash-board abs or bodybuilder arms, I just want to be able to go out in public and not feel like all eyes are on my, judging my fat *kitten*.
Anywho, be grateful if anyone adds me as a friend, be nice to be part of a group of friends with the same goals. So far I've lost 10lbs, I've only been excercising and dieting for 2 weeks now, look forward to meeting new people on here
