Help Please!

Hi All,

Hope everyone is doing well and has had a good day!

I've been on MFP for around 4 months now (over two profiles) and have lost 16lbs so of course I'm happy! MFP gave me a calorie goal of 1200 which I've stuck to as much as possible but it's beginning to become unworkable.

I'm not focusing on speed - I want to lose the weight in the right way where I can keep it off.

I've looked into the TDEE - 20% method and using Scooby's workshop, I've been given a goal of 1600 calories a day. This seems much more workable but I'm afraid it's too much of a big jump and I'm wondering whether it's still possible to lose at this number after sticking at 1200 for so long? Any input would be appreciated!

I'm 22, 5"9.5, SW: 200, CW: 184, GW: 160.

I'm unable to exercise at the moment but speed walk for 90 mins a week.

Thanks all!

You can absolutely lose at that level. It is possible to see a bit of a gain at first, due to water fluctuations. But that will level out soon (give it a few weeks) and you will be fine.
