Wow, this is the first time My Fitness Pal told me that I wasn't eating enough. My calories were too low. Shocking! However, I added more peanuts which doubled its calories--that did it! Trying to get to 175 in 5 weeks!!

Wait. You double your calories eating peanuts? As in you ate a little below 1200 and then ate 1200 calories in peanuts...or you ate like 600 calories today, and ate 600 more in peanuts?

    mind boggled.

Good job, peanuts are great protein and have healthy fat.

I think she meant she doubled her serving of peanuts and that tipped her over the 1200 calorie mark.

Yeah, I doubled my serving of peanuts to make the calories go up; otherwise, FP tells me I didn't eat enough. Also I am diabetic and peanuts hinders the blood sugar spike. I only eat them after I've had like yogurt or an apple.

My bottom line calories did not double!! That would be defeating the purpose of trying to lose weight. I just wanted it to tip over, that's all. Thanks--glad we clarified that!!

nuts arent really a protein source, they're mainly fat.

Peanuts are actually a legume (bean) and do have quite a bit of protein, compared to nuts.

Well, they may contain fat, but definitely has protein as WalkingAlong says. So you both are correct about the peanut! Thanks, much appreciated.

They have some protein, but as WalkingAlong pointed out, are a different family.

I was confused about the doubling of calories, too.

Peanuts are so yummy. Especially dry roasted peanuts. Yummmmmm.
