I bought my cat an ounce of catnip and I was reading the bag and it said, if you have insomnia to make it into a tea. Anyone every try it? My mom has a terrible time sleeping but she's going to think I'm crazy suggesting catnip!

Will she be able to stay asleep when she inevitably gets bundled by half the neighbourhood's cats, or followed by herds of them first things in the morning as she's trying to get to work?

I have had issues falling asleep, and I had a tea that was made specifically for that purpose.. and, well, one of the main ingredients was catnip! While my kitty wanted to try some, I wanted to sleep! Of course I didn't let him, but it really did work!

I used Nighty Night by Traditional Medicinals Canada

Ingredients were: Medicinal ingredients: Each tea bag (1.75g) contains: Organic passionflower herb (Passiflora incarnata) 350 mg, organic chamomile flower (Matricaria recutita)* 350 mg, organic catnip herb (Nepeta cataria) 175 mg, organic hop strobile (Humulus lupulus) 70 mg.

Catnip is actually in the mint family and can be used culinarily. I dont like mint tea so I cant say anything about its effects on insomnia.
