Hello,
I am looking for new buddies on here to help motivate me, and I can help motivate them.
I was diagnosed with diabetes last year (On National Diabetes Day coincidentally). I lost 25 lbs and had my blood sugars almost where they needed to be. My best friend at the time (who is now engaged to me cousin) and I got into a fight early June. It caused a bunch of family drama, and got me really depressed. That's when I stopped working out and eating my way through life. In Aug I started getting nauseated all the time, and just felt physically not well. I went to the doctor to find my diabetes was the worst it's been and I had gained my 25 lbs back. I slowly started to get back on track, and slowly started to feel better, then I lost my eyesight for about 36 hours. SCARY! Pun intended, I now see the importance of keeping sugars in check.
I'm still struggling with my depression a little, and lapse back into eating poorly, but I am having more good days than bad.
Honestly, I just want to get my diabetes in check. That's my first priority. Losing weight is my second one. I know those come hand in hand a little. As long as I feel great, I'm good! (I am eager to fit back into the clothes I was wearing this past May! That would be super!)
Anyway, add me if you want!

Stay accountable to what you eat. If you have a bad day account for it with your medicine. I dont have diabetes but I know people that do and do it very well. You can live a very normal life if you just get consistent with your checks and balances.0

I also fight with depression which directly affects my weight. the last 2 years were tough but my husband and I moved to a new area that is less stressful lifestyle. I need to break things down in very small victories. Some days, just taking a shower was all I could manage.
I decided to join this and be more active to reach out to people so that I keep on track and do this !0
