Hello everyone,

I ran my first half marathon in 2:00:56 :) I'm so so happy and proud of myself. HERE IS THE ISSUE. As soon as I finished and started walking - about 20min later I felt a bad pain on the outside of my left foot. It is NOT swollen and NOT black and blue. It does not hurt to stretch but DEFINITELY hurts to walk on it. HELP!!!! I am going to wait a few days and ice it / stretch it but I don't know whether x-rays are necessary.

any advice would be great!

Probably best to go to the doctor.

I injured my foot running recently, started with pain on the outside near the center where you can feel the bone sticks out (sorry, don't know the actual names for the foot bones), pain with no swelling or bruising and its turned out to be a tendon injury. Doc also suspected it may have been a stress fracture but x-rays ruled that out. I made the mistake of giving it a couple days to rest and went running again when the pain went away thinking it wasn't a big deal and now I'm still dealing with it 8 weeks later.
