after surgery

I had bi-lateral knee surgery on Sept 22,2014. I wasn't being aggressive in my weight loss before this happened. It took 1 year to loose 20 lbs. This was eating only 1300 daily plus 30-40 minutes exercise "almost" daily. We did have times with family where the food flowed but this wasn't so often. I am afraid of putting weight on even though myfitnesspal says I can have 1270 calories and maintain this present weight. There is no way to exercise getting the heart rate up to burn calories. PT and hobbling about is the extent of my efforts. I am 65 and would like to chat with anyone who has gone through this or knows of anyone who can not exercise normally because of surgery. Thanks

Hi, I had knee surgery on September 10th to replace a torn ACL and repair meniscus. I first injured my knee a year ago but had to wait this long for the surgery. I have relied heavily on cycling and aquafit both post injury and post surgery. Have you talked to a dr or physiotherapist about these two options? I know at times with a bad knee you feel absolutely limited with what you can do and it can be frustrating, good luck to you :)

I had hip surgery (twice in 2 years) and just now recovering from an abdominal surgery. I wish you the best of luck! I would discuss your options with your PT and see what they recommend, honestly mine were wonderful and actually allowed me to come in outside my appointments and "work out" in their gym while being supervised for safety.
