counting calories in cooked food

I work away from home for two week at a time an stay at a 500 man camp. The food is already cooked. I try to guess how many calories in proteins by the size of a deck of card being 3oz method. Cooked rice by the cup, beans by the cup, etc. I am losing weight, but I would like to know that I am at least in a 20% or less margin of error. Does anyone have any tips or websites that may help me with this beginnings of an obsession of counting calories?

If you're losing weight, that's what counts. I don't think there's anyway you can know for sure whether you're within a 20% margin of error or not...hell, food labels and restaurants are allowed a good 15-20% margin of error.

Just keep doing what you're doing...it's obviously working...stop obsessing about something you can't control.

Bring in a small scale and weigh your food.

    People ask, just be honest.

I have no shame when it comes to this, but then again I don't live in camp!

    Good luck!

I 2nd this. Just say you need to weigh things to make sure you properly hit your daily macro needs, which sounds more "manly" than needing to hit your calorie needs I guess?
