What motivates you??

What motivates you?? Not just what motivates you to loose weight...but do anything that you need, want, or have to do?

This week my motivation tank is been riding on empty...but its more because I'm under the weather right now and trying to kick a bug that keeps lingering.

Music is a good motivator for me.

How about you?

To be honest...my motivation daily is to prove others wrong. Yep, doubt me and I will show you!

"No one is going to do it for me." - that motivates me.

I want to be 'that guy'. The one that is in good shape, not just "for my age" (I'm 35) but because I am. At school I was in the friend zone with just about every girl I knew. Whilst I'm happily married, I want to be desired by other in a way the 16 year old version of me never was.

I know it sounds conceited but that really is it.

Habit trumps motivation....motivation is always a fleeting thing, habits die hard.

Yesterday was a pretty bad day and I was seriously not in the mood for the gym...just wanted to go home and crack open a beer. But yesterday was Tuesday, and I hit the weight room on Tuesday evenings and while I was not motivated to go, I went anyway...and by the end of it, I was glad I did...and then I went home and had my beer.

I'm also like a lot of you...I can really get motivated if I'm told "No, you can't do that" or "You won't stick to it and will quit". Luckily I've not had anyone tell me that I won't stick to my journey to a healthier/fitter me and I don't have anyone in my life that tells me "No, you can't do that" (well my daughter tries but I ignore here).

Honestly this sounds bad to say but guilt motivates me. When I look in the mirror and don't like what I see and I think, "I spent the last xx months doing this to myself", I feel horrible. So I want to avoid that feeling. I want to look in the mirror and no matter what I see, I want to be able to think, "hey I'm eating well and getting some exercise so good for me".
