Stuck in 160s

Last summer I lost about 10 pounds. I was down to 148. Now, I gained 12 pounds back. I always find I am lighter in the summer because of more outdoor activities I do. I don't know what I am doing wrong.

My diet is fairly good. I cook my own foods. I eat veggies, fruit, fish, and chicken. I avoid fried greasy food and soda.

I started a new job last Sunday that requires me to be on my feet for 6 hours a day with one 15 minute break. I work around food in a deli all day so it's tempting to eat samples of stuff. Sometimes, I want to spend my paycheck buying food there since I work in a grocery store.

I do not have a lot of time to exercise with my work schedule. I have a membership to a gym, but only go like 1-2 times a week. It's getting too cold to go on walks outside. It's been in the 40s and 50s in my neck of the woods.

I was looking for some support and advice from people who have also struggled with losing weight and keeping the weight off. Feel free to friend me, but make sure you attach a message with your friend request.

You are eating more calories than you use

Eat less - log accurately and you will lose weight

You will get the best results if you exercise more. If you dont have time for the gym make time to workout at home. That is what I do and all you need it 30 minutes to get great results everyone can make time for 30 minutes. Also I can help you figure out your diary if youd like

I live in SoCal now, but back when I lived in Boston 40's and 50's degrees is the best time to workout outdoors. I'm a marathon runner and I found I would warm up after about 15 mins and not feel too hot while running. A long sleeved shirt and shorts. The coldest run I've done was in -25 while training for Boston Marathon. You have a lot of excuses as to why you "cant" exercise. You can do it. Get out there and enjoy the fall weather. :)

Exercise is not necessary to weight loss, a caloric deficit is. You are eating more than you think.

This, all this. Exercise is for fitness, not weight loss, so it is not needed. You will not have better results by exercising if you are ensuring you are in a caloric deficit.

Calculate estimated maintenance needs from sites like health-calc.com and exrx.net (use NEAT - no exercise - if you want to eat back exercise cals, otherwise do TDEE - include exercise - if you don't want to eat back exercise cals), subtract 20% for ~1lb/week or 4-5lbs a month, and weigh your food diligently. Log daily. One day sometimes where you don't weigh everything is fine, life happens.

Also I have not cut anyhting out of my diet and I've lost 20+lbs. It's all about calorie deficit, not eating "clean/healthy" etc.

Oh, and if time is an issue, try pre-logging. I don't do this all the time but I do it way more now that I'm back in school for the semester. So I'll usually pre-log breakfast and lunch, edit as I prep it in the morning, and then I freely log the evening or I'll do a rough log of hte whole day and just edit and swap as I desire.
