Lost 184 lbs from Oct 2012 to Oct 2013, then nothing for the past year

This past year has been difficult. I haven't tried very hard at all. Basically once I got down to a weight that I felt good at, I started dating. And dating has done two things... one, it has taken up A TON of time. Time that I used to spend at the gym. Two, it had been pretty depressing up until recently. Things are good now, but I previously experienced a lot of disappointment and turned to food for comfort. But my problem isn't just that I eat when I'm sad. I eat when I'm really happy too. And when I'm bored. *Sigh* I would love more friends on here to be accountable to and to help motivate each other.

If you enjoy working out, maybe you should date people who also enjoy it. Then you can work out together. That would probably be a great icebreaker and lots of fun. I lost a lot of weight previously, looked fantabulous and then gained it back and more. Now I have to lose twice as much. Do all you can to maintain where you are because 184lbs is an amazing achievement. Surround yourself with active people and do other activities (besides eating) when you are excited, sad or bored, etc. Good luck.0

Wow! 184 pounds is incredible. Ditto what astrose00 said and I also like to eat when I'm happy (or sad). I'll be your friend here on MFP.0

Your accomplishment is amazing! I've also lost a lot and then regained, so kudos to you for getting right on top of changes for the worse.
You should definitely date people you can do active things with. If not the gym, maybe running, biking, hiking, skiing - whatever will keep you moving. Maybe someone wants to train for a 5k with you? I bet there's a ton of activities you never thought of doing before (rock climbing? kayaking? scuba diving?) that you could try out now, and I don't think you'll have trouble finding potential partners who'd be happy to teach you
Logging your food intake will help you control emotional eating. It sounds like that might still be a problem for you.
Please feel free to friend me.0
