Does the speed of exercise count?

Say, if you did 30mins of walking 4km/ph, would you burn less calories than running 9km/ph?
Some say yes some say not?

Assuming you're performing both exercises for the same amount of time, yes, a slower pace will burn fewer calories.

Yes. Speed will increase your metabolism, thermogenesis induced exercise, for the rest of the day. HIIT, will increase it the most.

calorie burn is a measure of energy you spend. obviously you'd spend more energy going faster in the same amount of time than if you went slower. i dont quite understand how people would say you wouldnt

An hour is an hour. A km is a km.
If you do more kms an hour you burn more calories.
    Because you've gone more kms.

I think it may be the way you phrase it. For instance, whether you run four miles in 2 minutes or walk four miles in an hour, I think you will find the actual calorie count is the same. There may be other benefits of the faster pace...ie building aerobic capacity but the energy (calories) is just weight(yours) times distance. I seem to recall this from my high school physics...and that was a few years back so I welcome comments.

Yes definitely, for example if I do 3.7 mph on my treadmill it tells me I will burn 320 calories per hour but if I do 4.7 I burn 707 calories per hour.
