On-the-go Lunch for a Work Trip

I suck at being creative about stuff. I usually find something that I like for lunch and then eat it everyday for weeks before I switch to something else.
I'm travelling next week for work. I want to pack my own lunch. The hotel has a fridge and a microwave, however I will be delivering training at a conference center and most likely won't have access to either a fridge or a microwave.
So I'm looking for ideas on a lunch that I can pack with me. It's important to me that it be a balanced meal; which for me means something with protein and complex carbs.
Any thoughts??
