Can you gain Muscle and lose Fat at same time?

Everything I read says you cannot build muscle and loose fat at the same time as you are in a calorie deficit but then I see this article from Scooby's website saying it can be done. What do you people think? Can you build muscle and loose fat at the same time?

Heres the link..... http://scoobysworkshop.com/gain-muscle-lose-fat/

What difference can it possibly make? Whether you're in a surplus or a deficit, the prevailing wisdom is that you should be resistance training to achieve the best results. Just work out.

Most of learning will involve trying things for yourself and see what works for you so don’t trust anything you hear or read unless there is published, peer-reviewed, university research which backs up the claims.

    Scooby's philosophy.

While not impossible, still have to see a peer reviewed clinical study to show it being done with any significant muscle gain.

I'm with Dav on this. Just work out.

I would think its possible, but your diet would have to be spot on.

Much easier just to bulk and the cut...

2.5 months ago I joined the gym, got myself measured and all. At this point I upped my calories from 1200 to 1550 but I'm going over that constantly, it's more like 1700-1800 and I don't even log everything (spices, cooking oils, coffee).
now 2.5 months later, according to the same machine, I weight exactly the same, but my body fat has decreased 3.5% and I gained 1.2kg of muscle. :) so I will keep this up, probably add more calories later.. and no, I didn't eat clean. This was MY experience, might be newbie gains or something, hope it helps :P

I was just curious. I do lift weights and do some cardio as well. I have dropped 27 pounds so far and have about 40 pounds left to reach my goal weight. I'm starting to see some major changes in my body and I'm feeling so great! I lost my gut, my diet is on point, my muscles are looking more defined and I'm in best shape of my life. I've made a complete change for the better and I'm so excited to see where my journey takes me.

    Thanks for your responses.
