So today out of curiosity I took out a pull-up bar that had been gathering dust for a while and hung it up on my door. I dangled from it for a few seconds, and then did TWO HANGING PULL-UPS IN A ROW!!!!!! A few months ago I could only do one by jumping! I guess losing weight gave my arms less to pull...

You're doing it the hard way, which may result in an injury. Use an assisted pullup machine or a lat pulldown machine till you have the proper strength for pullup.0
