So, what I'm gathering here is you're upset because the scale went up finally after not gaining weight. However, you're now unhappy because you're assuming it was in the form of water weight as it quickly dissipated? Is this correct?
If so, the solution would be to eat more.0 -
I'm confused. But if you're trying to gain you need to consistently eat a surplus of calories, not maintenance.0

i want to gain abit not loads prehaps 3 or 4 pounds and then maintain.. my ribs show was origonally maintaining at 7st 10 and dropped to 7st 6 I am quite short 5ft 2 so 3 or 4 pounds actually make a difference between me looking too thin and looking good..0

Then eat more.
ETA: Depending if you want to gain 3-4 pounds of fat or muscle will determine your next step. If you just want to add fat, just eat more. If you want to gain muscle (and inevitably a little fat) look into lean bulking.0 -
You need to eat more than what you just ate during your "all you can eat" meal apparently.0

I am eating a fair bit most of the people that are my friends on myfitnesspal are not eating anywhere near what I am.. Btw this all you can eat meal was a plate of Chinese a plate of Indian and then 2 plates of desserts I can't physically eat like that every day!! Most days I am eating between 2300 and 2500 this should be enough..0

Stop comparing yourself to other people, just focus on doing you.0 -
Lol okay your right!! I do want to look less crap.. Like strong not like I need a good meal!!0

What is your weight, age and height? But I'd say 2500 would do it unless you are exercising quite a bit.0

What are your maintenance calories? Are you trying to gain 3-4 pounds of fat or muscle - see my comment above.0

A quick review of your diary seems to have you at a slight deficit except for the one huge meal where you went over by 1500 calories or so. If accurate, you won't gain weight that way, you need an excess of around 3500 calories for each pound gained. I assume you have your ticker set at maintanance and try to go over this every day?0
-
Hmm probably not if I do gym sessions and then am working on the yard I will be under.. I log mucking out stables as excersize so on the days when I am mucking out for 2 hours then go to the gym won't be eating everything back..0

Well instead of the generic "eat more" I think you know why you aren't gaining. While eat more is accurate, maybe just stuffing your self isn't the best way. You might have to plan to eat another 500 calories or so every day and see what happens in a month. Lot's a goodies to choose from. Ice cream or another desert every day would be nice0

Lol okay I do have a choccy habit!! My favourite thing to dunk in my tea in the morning is a galaxy ripple!!0

Look into lean bulking. Seriously. It will do wonders for your body. Women usually eat about 125-250 calories over maintenance every day (but this varies, some eat more, you just have to play with your numbers). Find a good, quality lifting program that incorporates progressive overload. And be consistent.

You look great BTW. And yes, I gain really easy. I'm at about 1800 and that's basically a maintenance value.0
