drink ideas to increase my fluid intake!

I've had problems since a few days after surgery being able to get all my fluid in daily. I'm getting in anywhere from 8-32 ounces dialysis on a maximum. I have tried the following drinks-water, mio drops in water, juice, milk, and tea. I can only drink the fluids when they are really cold. If they aren't it makes me sick to my stomach. I tried apple juice as a reccomend Arion from my dietician to get more fluids and it made me very sick to my stomach with just a few sips, I eve got the juicy juice brand they had told me to try. Tea is what I drink most along with water, but neither I actually like well and I still get stomach aches from drinking them. Yes I am sipping little bitty drinks at a time and I have also bought sugar free jello to eat as a fluid and I couldn't stand the taste or it. I have also tried drinking broth, but since I wouldn't like it super cold I had it warm which I couldn't stand to drink. So please tell me some other drink options to try to increase my fluids. Also after about 5 little sips is when I have to stop drinking usually for about 30 minutes til my stomach stops hurting.

So it's the surgery that's effecting your fluid intake? Or have you been this way your entire life?0

Before surgery I would drink fast and sometimes nor drink anything til the evening then I would just chug a bottle of water which of course made me feel sick. Since surgery 9/12/2014 is when I have been having the issue with getting enough fluids in and causing stomach aches from trying to get them in.0

Also I've never thrown up since suegery, just bad stomach aches that last up to 30 minutes at a time from sipping fluids.0

Sounds like you might want to talk to your surgeon about this0

I have at my 4 week post op appt. He basically was no help on the subject. I've talked to my dieticians endlessly as well. I've tried their reccomendatons of fluid at different temps the jello and not sure what else I can do.0

You have to advocate for yourself and push for answers with these doctors. Seems like you've tried every drink in the book, excluding soda and booze - which arent good options. You know your body best, and if you feel that something is wrong internally, then the doctors need to use what they have to figure this out. We can't scope your upper GI system here.
Anyone else have tips out there??0 -
Thanks, I just didn't know if there was anything else I could try. Nope haven't had pop or alcohol since before surgery and going to keep it that way lol. I'm just at a loss for what else I can try.0
