Thank you so much :)!! When I googled the calories in it, it said the whole box was 1,450 calories which I thought wasn't right. If it's only 715 calories for the whole box, then that's not bad at all :)!! I know that hamburger helper isn't healthy at all and it's full of chemicals. But the thing is, I haven't had hamburger helper in over a year. When I was in America, it was one of my favorite meals. Since moving to the Netherlands, I haven't had it at all and they don't have it over here. I really have missed and craved it. So when my sister in law and her fiance went to America for vacation, they brought me back lots of American goodies including Hamburger helper. :D I thought it would be nice to have it for a meal like dinner every once in a while since I got a few boxes :) That's why I really wanted to know about the calories.

This is funny.....I brought cake mixes (from the U.S.) to Germany last summer.

LOL apparently I ruffled some feathers enough to be flagged as abuse. I gave a crap-load of information, answered the OP's questions, and suggested she make her own. I didn't judge (as implied), wasn't rude.. but can't please them all I guess!

To the one asking, I consider things created in a factory with an ingredient list longer than my arm to be synthetic food. -- and it's not pasta, it's rice ;);)

    1. You must have short arms.

    2. The hamburger helper I've had in the past has been pasta. My bad.

    3. Do you pick all of your food out of your own garden? Where do you buy your rice? Your seasonings? Don't you think those are packaged *gasp* in factories?!?

What if I do have short arms? lol

jeez peeps, she found out the calories per serving, she's happy with the responses (aside from the snide remarks telling her to google it)... She wasn't offended by my comment...
Sing like all of the preschool kids... let it go, let it gooooo!

No offense, because I see where you're coming from... but You still didn't answer the third question. Aside from fresh veggies and meats, I bet the majority of your foods in fact do come from a factory processing/packaging facility.

I didn't answer because I didn't say that packaged food was the devil/wrong/whatever is assumed I was thinking. I eat some packaged foods, obviously. I have to. I do, however, try to stay away from things with a grocery list of items that I cannot pronounce as ingredients.

It's a personal decision, I've lost every pound that I have thus far eating everything and anything I wanted in moderation. I've started switching over to whole foods (via 100 Days of Real Food) for my own sanity. My son has sensitivities to artificial flavors and colors, which is why I use the term 'synthetic food'. I never once claimed I was superior, that I grow my own foods, etc. I clarified that it is what I consider.

If some want to continue reading into my thoughts and interpret them their own way, have at it. It's not going to bother me one bit. I don't take life, nor posters here, too seriously. I'm happier that way (again, not saying that if you do, you won't be happy - this is what's happening here lol) (*) (Cheers!! Since MFP took away my drinker haha)

I can speak for myself and say that my eating habits have drastically improved for the better. :) Today I had oatmeal (55 grams) which was only 248 calories. Then I had home made vegetable soup with meatballs which was 300 calories. I also had 2 mini recess peanut butter cups which were 84 calories.

My other breakfast and lunch items I rotate are 2 scrambled eggs with spinach and veggies (300 calories), Turkey and spinach sandwich on whole-grain bread (202 calories), and All-Brain fiber cereal (60 grams) (about 270-300 calories).

For dinner I normally eat a piece of meat like chicken, pork, or beef, with a small amount of starch, mashed potatoes, or rice, and a salad. :) Once in a while though (mostly one day of the weekend, I will allow myself to have something a little bit junkier for dinner or as a snack.) But I always make sure to stay in my calorie limit :)

To the original poster, I just want to add (apropos of nothing) that it's a really good idea to measure out stuff like this with a food scale, because trying to guesstimate with a measuring cup isn't very accurate. And if you're like me, there's hardly 3 servings in one of these (prepared) boxes...

    LOL.

More like 1 serving, maybe 2 tops. Unless I'm hungry. Too bad they're so dense. :(

I used to know a guy who would eat a bowl of it everyday, like, the whole box, with 1lb of ground beef. I dunno if he ever pooped.

I always use a food scale to measure my food :) I've actually been using one for 3 weeks. I never guess or estimate since I really suck at that and am always wrong. Also yes there isn't 3 servings in one box. I could easily eat the entire box by myself (with no meat) LOL!

    Dear god.

That reminds me of back when I first moved out on my own. Those Safeway ones were a staple. Can't even look at them now.

OP, you got your answer, but in the future if you need info, always check the company's website. They don't always have info, but they do a lot.

Hamburger Helper is totally not healthy, but it is good! Especially the next day. It's better leftover, IMO. :)

Everyone looks down on it, but I have always REALLY liked it and still make some on occasion, but I use ground chicken now. (Not that ground chicken makes it healthy, but every little bit helps, lol.)

    Enjoy!

    Hello Kalikel,

I actually didn't think to look on the company's website since I did that for several products in the past and didn't find the nutrition label, so I just tried googling it, but I got mixed results.

I know Hamburger helper isn't healthy at all, but it really is yummy and a nice dinner once in a while :) I haven't had it in over a year, so I really have been craving it.

I've always liked it also! I don't know why people look down on it. I'm a weirdo and I always eat hamburger helper without the meat to save calories ha ha.
