Checking off a Calendar

I'm not really struggling with motivation right now, but I just bought myself a large, three-month, dry erase calendar that I hung in my kitchen. Not only am I using it for marking events coming up for at-a-glance holiday commitments, but on Nov.1, I started using it to keep up with my running, strength training, 7-minute workouts, etc. for at-a-glance progress and motivation.
Does anyone else feel themselves going back to being a kid and being excited about getting a "gold star?" That's how happy it makes me to be able to check off a task or log a workout. Yeah, I still come to MFP every day, but there's something about that kitchen calendar that just feels more like an achievement.
What about you? Do you find yourself motivated by this kind of thing?

I use printable calendars that I find on various Tumblrs to keep track of my 30 Day Shred, Ripped In 30, Focus T25, etc. workouts. Crossing off each day with a big, fat 'X' is totally gratifying! I even keep the calendars stuffed in the bottom of a desk drawer after completion because I like to have 'em just to say "I did this thing!"0

When I started out I bought a day-planner and added a sticker to it every day that I met my goals. It was a silly little non-food reward every day and it gave me a quick way to check and see if I'd had too many cheat/rest days in a week. It was one of the best things I did for myself motivation-wise.0

I did the same...but with the cheesy gold-red-blue-silver and green stars. Just like a little kid!!! The different colors mean different things. Workouts finished, monthly goal met, 10% weight loss....0
