how to lose weight once again after gaining

Ive recently gained all the weight I lost.... seriously depressed and demotivated. Anyone experienced this and managed to lose weight again?

How'd you lose it before? Where you doing a fad diet that promised quick weight loss instead of doing something that would be sustainable for life? As the other poster mentioned all you really need to lose weight is a calorie deficit & it doesn't hurt to exercise a bit. You don't even have to be restrictive by banning foods or entire food groups unless you have a dietary restriction. Many people who diet feel they must ban all sweets & once they reach their desired weight loss eat it & gain weight back from not learning how to eat in moderation.0 -
Go back to eating in a caloric deficit. That's all you need. Set your daily calorie intake to where you lose at a healthy sustainable rate. Don't rush it. You didn't gain overnight, so don't expet to lose it overnight.
Instead of being depressed or upset about it, get up and do something to relieve that stress/feeling. Go for a walk, a run, do some kickboxing.0 -

Yes. And I've relost almost all the weight I gained. Assess what did and did not work the first time (is: unrealistic goal? Too restrictive a food plan? No plan for maintenance?) And go from there. Make changes so that this time you can and WILL be successful.0 -
Been there done that , for me I had to be honest with myself and ask why I gained it all truth was I got lazy ate rubbish and fooled myself into thinking oh its just a bit of weight I will work it off tomorrow well that then becomes another tomorrow, week ,month etc.
So why did you gain? were your plans unrealistic too difficult to maintain? if so then you did it wrong so go back to the start. Set a goal and do 1 day at a time log accurately honestly ( trust me some of my days make me cringe) but honesty is how we learn and see where we are going wrong.
Small changes make a huge impact so try incorporating more fresh foods and lots of water breaking bad habits and get moving that will make your depression go away as working out makes you feel good.
I made a change and im doing it over 200 days and yes ive had bad days but they've just been 1 day here and there and not continuous to me that's progress. Add me we can do this 1 day at a time!!!!
Its simple weigh and measure is step 1 , log is step 2 and if you wish step 3 exercise and that's it to lose fat eat less than you need to maintain its really that simple don't over complicate that's where people go wrong0 -
There are a million different ways to create a calorie deficit and lose weight. There's only one way to keep it off: sustainable lifestyle change. Eat less, move more, and make changes that you can maintain for the rest of your life.0

I like you have lost weight in the past. As of three days ago i had a total mental breakdown over my weigh depression and health issues. In the past year i have been diagnosis with rheumatoid arthritis, fybromalga, internal cystitistiest, (spelled wrong) anyway my point is i was getting so depressed over all this. I seriously can't hardly get out of bed and walk across the room some days.
Years ago when i lost weight i walked 5 miles a day. That has kept me from even trying for many years now, thinking that i needed to get out and start walking like this again.
So as of 3 days ago i started a whole new life. I read a book about making a goal of just 10 minutes of exercise a day. I thought to myself I can do this! It needs to be a streak so promise yourself to do 10 minutes everyday.
So far i have done about 26 minutes around my block the first day and 41 minutes today. yesterday i did a thing called 90 day challenge with bikini mommy off utube.
The thing is i know in my mind now that i only have to do 10 minutes so if i want to stop i'm not failing, 'i'm not giving up! I only need to do 10 minutes everyday no matter what. I hope this will help you get motivated, it did me. Please friend me.
The other thing i decided to do is log every single thing i put in my mouth. However, i am eating what i want in a much healthier way. I have a very sweet tooth so today i had Trader Joe's gluten free Granola cranberry maple nut. 1/3 cup on Trader joe's peaches and cream yogurt cup and a piece of pumpkin bread limited addition franz. oh and tea for my breakfast it came to 400 calories. I used to try and cut down on everything and save calories for later. This time i am gonna try it differently and enjoy each meal. I made chicken breast for the week so i can use it in salads or sandwich. Yesterday i had a tuna sandwich with real mayo and onion pickle on real bread. It was so delicious and i was not craving other stuff. Also i notice at the end of my day i still had calories left over. Again making my day a success. I think to many times i start i start to hard on myself and have failed in the past. This time i really want it to be for health and living a good life instead of oh i gotta lose all this weight so fast. Good luck! Tobi0 -
I'm in the midst of doing so now. I would lose some weight, plateau after getting close to 10 pounds lost (I have a lot to lose so 10 pounds isn't much and I couldn't even get there), get discouraged, stop trying, gain the weight I lost plus another 10-20. This time, I hit the 9 pound plateau again, but I kept going this time. Two things have kept me from giving up. I have someone who is doing it with me (my DH), and more importantly, my mindset had to change. Time stops for no one, and even if I give up, a year will pass and I will be at the same weight or even higher. If I choose not to give in to the discouragement and keep going, after a year I may not be at goal or anywhere near, but I'll be better off than I was at the beginning of the journey. So I adjusted what I ate, continued to work out (and did what I could but not too much when I injured my back a few weeks back), and I was finally able to break through the plateau within the last couple of weeks and drop another two pounds.0
